Training again last weekend saw us trying a few things out we picked up from Ashby but not the off the ball 'action'.
We are travelling to Newark this weekend, but the start time is a more civilised 10:15. Good news is that there is food after the match, bad news is that only guide dogs are allowed on the site. The address is:
Kelham Road,
Newark
NG24 1WN
Please be aware that the grace period for subs has now come to an end, if I haven't received your forms before Sunday and you haven't paid then you cannot play as your child is not covered by the clubs RFU insurance.
In 1582 the 15th October was the first day of the Gregorian calendar as decreed by Poe Gregory XIII in Italy, Spain, Portugal and Poland. The rest of the world was still using the Julian Calendar recognising the day as 5th October. Lets hope Mark and Dan have the correct calendar in their filo-faxes!
I have heard that some of you that live a long way from Newark (that being West Bridgford) and are planning on emulating Jean Pilatre de Rozier who in a balloon was the first man to leave the earth on this day in 1783. Emboldened by his success in 1785 he attempted the first crossing of the English channel with a hybrid balloon containing hot air and hydrogen. Within minutes of launch the balloon exploded and he plummeted to his death.
See you Sunday
